Vintage characteristics
2018
The 2018 vintage was characterised by a wetter-than-usual year, with a rainy spring that increased pressure from powdery mildew and downy mildew. Summer was moderately warm, with some rainfall that helped maintain grape freshness. Harvesting took place at a relaxed pace, allowing for gradual and balanced ripening. The result is an elegant Tentiber 2018, with good acidity, freshness and aromatic complexity.
Harvest dates: 29/09 to 23/10
Rainfall: 763,2 mm.
Average temperature: 14,2ºC
Blend: Garnatxa Negra (52%), Carinyena (28%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%)
2019
The 2019 vintage was marked by a dry and warm year, with low rainfall and heatwave episodes during the summer, especially at the end of June and the first week of July. Thanks to the good water reserves from the previous year, the vines achieved optimal ripeness, producing small, concentrated and high-quality grapes. Harvesting took place in excellent conditions, with an outstanding sanitary state. Tentiber 2019 shows great aromatic intensity, ripe tannins and well-balanced acidity, offering remarkable ageing potential. A magnificent wine.
Harvest dates: 24/09 to 06/10
Rainfall: 378 mm
Average temperature: 15,22ºC
Blend: Garnatxa Negra (42%), Carinyena (32%), Cabernet Sauvignon (26%)
2020
In the last months of 2019 and early 2020, Storm GLORIA brought heavy and continuous rainfall. As a result, the 2020 vintage was marked by a very wet year, especially during spring and early summer, leading to strong pressure from downy mildew and a significant yield reduction of 45–60% in our case. Harvesting was carried out under demanding sanitary conditions, but the resulting wines show good freshness, elegance and structure, with well-integrated acidity.
Harvest dates: 15 September to 10 October
Rainfall: 662,2 mm
Average temperature: 15,28ºC
Blend: Garnatxa Negra (43%), Carinyena (34%), Cabernet Sauvignon (23%)
