Perer

Perer is a single-vineyard wine that captures the purest essence of the Perer site — an old vineyard with its own unique identity, located in the village of Porrera within the DOQ Priorat. It is about calling wine by its name, by the place from which it comes. We want to express the unique terroir of Priorat and convey the elegance that characterizes our wines and the quality of a great Priorat wine.

What makes it special?

Perer is a unique vineyard of just 0.65 hectares, planted with indigenous Carinyena vines in 1959. Bush-trained and rooted on steep llicorella slate slopes. This vineyard proves that respectful viticulture — true to its original form — is still possible: full of energy and personality

For decades, these Carinyena vines have aged in place, preparing to give life to great wines.

It is a vineyard that calls for affection — one that must be cared for vine by vine, individually. Each plant holds a hidden world of life, and each one tells its own story. It demands that we listen, interpret its needs, and adapt to its rhythm and circumstances.

Awards

A wine of high colour intensity. Showing a deep cherry red with violet hues. On the nose, it is intensely aromatic. displaying very ripe and candied fruit, perfectly balanced with spicy notes and a subtle creamy touch from the oak. A fresh, green hint on the finish adds to the typical character of Carinyena.

On the palate, the entry is delicious and smooth. It offers great volume, a solid structure, and predominantly silky tannins — though it retains a lively, vibrant tannin that will give the wine excellent ageing potential in bottle. Fresh and beautifully balanced in acidity. It is long, with persistent aromatic and flavour intensity — the mark of a truly great wine.

2021

The year 2021 began marked by the storm Filomena in the form of significant snowfalls that lasted for days and left good water reserves for the vineyard. The spring was dry and cool, with good vegetative growth. The summer was warm but without extremes, with notable episodes of rain in the last weeks of August that allowed for slow and progressive ripening of the grapes. The harvest was carried out in optimal conditions, with healthy grapes and a great balance between acidity and concentration. An excellent vintage.

Harvest date: 15/10/2021

Rainfall: 478,2 mm

Average temperature: 14,28ºC
